I have to admit, I really did write Escalante off following the disastrous fight with Mauricio Pastrana. He didn't just get knocked out, he was really dominated down the stretch.
He came back with some great efforts against Oliver and Feidor Viloria and is probably as confident as he's ever been.
Stark has always been a personal fave of mine since I've been following him forever on the Broadway Boxing circuit. He's a tough guy with a lot of heart and determination, if almost non-existant punching power. He has this will to win that reminds me of a young Paulie Ayala, that sorta storming the beach at Normandy approach to fighting that makes up for a lot of his shortcomings.
Stark is no big puncher but he can wear a guy down if he fights his fight on the inside, ripping to the body. Escalante has that big right hand so he's always going to be dangerous. This is a real crossroads fight for both men.
I'd say the winner enters the title picture and the loser enters boxing hell.Comment

Yeah it could be an interesting fight, however I think getting on the inside with Escalante would mean bad news for Stark. Those hard body shots and his uppercuts would take him out.I have to admit, I really did write Escalante off following the disastrous fight with Mauricio Pastrana. Well he isn't going to beat him from mid-range so there aren't many other options to choose from lol.
I think the safest place he can be is on the inside where he can perhaps smother Escalante's power and grind him down. Escalante can be broken down to the body with pressure.
If Escalante is going to beat Stark, Stark probably would want it to be in close as opposed to distance where he can't get anything done.Comment
