Any one who thinks Ukrainians and Russians are different people are suffering historical dilusions.
Zionists pay for a revolution and all of the sudden the eastern slavs are all different people.
Give em a break, thats bull****.
Klitschkos should be fighting for Slavik people, not for some made up country called "Ukraine"
Your an idiot, first off i'm not a supporter of that ***gut yushchenko or any bull**** "revolutions", that said
please explain to me these historical dillusions?

post Kievan Rus Ukrainians and Russians were completely seperate from 1250 - 1654 even then they weren't really incorporated untill let's say 1775 when the sich was destroyed symbolically, even then not all of ukraine was incorporated they only had full control after wwII

further more even during kievan rus there were clear distinctions between the 3 east slavs linguistically and culturally so really, even thought they shared Kievan Rus they were separated geographically allowing for these differences and parts of Ukraine started being incorperated during the mid 1700's

so well over half a millenium they were totally apart

i love all Slavs, Russians included their our brothers/sisters but its ****heads like you who perpetuate soviet era propaganda and try to write us out of history that pisses off myself and alot of other Slavs not just Ukes

Don't be a **********ic prick, i am curious why you're so nostalgic of the Soviet era, most regular Russians got ****ed just like everyone else

Thats simply wrong, we do have a distinctively different culture and language.
Same way you can say that americans and mexicans are the same people, while they are not. Or even Irish and English. It just does not work that way.

Dude, when did Ukraine or russia actually become Ukraine or russia??

You do agree with me that they were the same people at one point right?

I would say Ukraine as a separte cultural entity became one in around 1500's. And you cant' say they were same people either, Russia was nothing but a bunch of small counties, each ruled by a separate lord(and each having a distinct culture), up before 1500's when it was united by Ivan the Terrible, him becoming the first relevant Tszar since the Golden Horde Igo and actually overcoming it. But it is a mistake to consider Russia a "one people", it is not.
                So is not Ukraine.

Right, but all those tribes, were genetical east slavs. I really dont care from a cultural view point, that a difference has evolved.
All I am saying that we should be under one roof, and not fighting eachother over ****** **** like we are doing right now.
Our languages are so similar, that if you only spoke Ukrainian, you could understand atleast %30 of what is being said in russian, and visa versa.

P.S. just in case you think I am a crazy russian... I was born in Kiev.

yes/no all Slavs were the same, speaking proto-slavic at one point, and i think before and probably very early Kievan Rus circa during 800's they were more similar but by late 900's they were difinitively different

now we can start talking about linguist and archeological studies/evidence etc but honestly i'm too ****ing lazy to post that kinda ****, i read alot, the majority being historical, the majority of that being on Eastern Slavs

but just from a logical standpoint think about it, Kievan Rus stretched from west of Kiev to east of Vladimir, you want to get anywhere it's by horse, most people never saw the different parts of the empire, they live where they live
and as a result differences develop

a good example would be Hutsuls in Carpati, they're Ukrainians but as a result of them being more isolated there are noticable difference in speech, dress, dance, music, customs etc from even other Western Ukrainians

so While Kievan Rus belonged to all 3, a rusyn is kiev would differ from someone living in northern Volhynia, from someone in yaroslavl or Novgorod

i realize alot of folks are taugh still the old soviet history, Kievan Rus is the first Russian state, and only Russians lived there while Ukes and Byelorussians are written out but the reality is all 3 got their start there and they were different even then

i agree totally with this sentiment, i hate the fact that the west and most south slavs are part of NATO and EU and if Ukraine ever joins i'd be beyond pissed, i'd love to see all Slavic countries join in with the co-op Russia has with some of the central asian stans economically, militarily, etc

when some folks talk like there is no Ukraine some, myself being one, get defensive and see it as an extension/continuation of forced assimilation, the only proof you need of its legacy is to look at how more than half of Ukrainians speak Russian as a first language, i just love our culture and want to make sure it continues to exist, that's all
