I wouldn't say it's a fact, I would change that to arguebly. The 5 greatest/most popular boxers of all-time(not saying it's a fact or that everyone would agree) are Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Hagler, Tyson(you can throw in De La Hoya in there) I would mention more but just want to keep the comment short. I am hispanic but I am gonna be realistic, Boxing would have/will always been/be a great sport with or without hispanics.Last edited by PrettyBoyRoy 88; 04-02-2009, 04:59 PM.Comment

You only say that because you're dominican.I wouldn't say it's a fact, I would change that to arguebly. Universally, the 5 greatest/most popular boxers of all-time(not saying it's a fact or that everyone would agree) are Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Hagler, Tyson(you can throw in De La Hoya in there) I would mention more but just want o tkeep the comment short. Fact is boxing is very popular among Mexicans, Mexican Americans and puerto ricans. If these fans were to stop following boxing all together the sport would suffer greatly. It is the Mexican and Puerto rican boxers that bring in these vital fans. Without hispanics boxing would be a great sport with very few fans.Comment

If this was true, why am I not on the Joan Guzman train. You make a great point though, I just don't agree on "Boxing would suck without Mexicans and Puerto Ricans" I have never followed ANY hispanic boxer(Dominican, PR, Mex, etc.) look at my all-time faves. My current faves has different nationalities so I don't look biased to black boxers. BTW I am from Harlem(not spanish Harlem), What do you expect from me Lol. You made a good post though. You only say that because you're dominican.

#1. This isnt a hate thread, its his opinion, no where did he hate on any other race.
#2. The fact of the matter is that Mejicanos and Boriquas have brought boxing fans many great fights over the years, think about the last 50 years...
#3. Yes, basketball would suck without Black-Americans, just like baseball would suck without Latinos
#4. The sport of boxing transcends color lines, BUT, without the the contributions of Mejicanos and Boricuas, boxing would definitely not be the same......Us in the states dont really have a lot of Americans lining up to box, and its very unfortunate. Like Teddy Atlas said, our new fighters are in football, basketball, etc,
#5. Boxing isnt as popular here as it used to beComment

I know some knuckleheads who would cite THAT in coming to a different conclusion: that Mexico and Puerto Rico would suck without boxing. You only say that because you're dominican.

Maybe you're being a knucklehead, except going the other way?
