I think It Will take a Shannon Briggs type of Fighter to Defeat Wladimir

And by a Shannon Briggs type of fighter I mean the fitter, lighter version of Briggs. David Haye has speed and power, but he still appears rather small despite the listing of 6'3'' and 78'' reach. Apart from Haye's chin, I just don't think he has the range to land the big punches. It's not as if Haye has a great jab to work from. He might be able to catch Klitschko with some big shots, but I just can't see it happening. I can just see Klitschko playing it safe with straight punches with Haye not getting much in.

Emanuel Steward- ''Yes, you have to worry about Shannon Briggs for the first few rounds, that's just the way he fights. Shannon fights like a kamikaze, Brock is a different kind of fighter. We will be careful of Brock as well, but Shannon Briggs is as dangerous a fighter out there within the first three rounds of a fight.''
It's too bad Briggs didn't take his training more seriously or he may have got a shot at Klitschko eventually.

Briggs would be out of breath before the ref. had finished his instructions.

I always felt that just styles considered, Briggs was the most dangerous challenger to Wladimir after Lyakhovich beat Brewster. Briggs had the range, the hand speed and the power but his gas tank was on empty after three rounds or so.

Jameel McCline was another guy like that whom I felt underachieved in his entire career, the Klitschko fight included. He told me that he went into the fight completely shook by the whole Klitschko aura and completely froze. It's a shame, he really had skill, believe it or not.

Anybody hear Briggs recently calling out Wlad and Vitali. He said his health problems were thryoid and medication related so his stamina problems should be solved. If so I would like to see him back in the heavyweight picture.
