They won't. Honestly, mainstream America doesn't really care enough about either fighter for a 24/7 to be worthwhile. Pac and Hatton were leveraged into the mainstream eye through Mayweather and DLH so people are already familiar with these guys. I can't see it doing better numbers than Calzaghe-Jones and that tanked.

Clear up my confusion, as a Brit im not too sure how it works in the States;

Showtime and HBO are rivals (like say Sky and Setanta) and they both do PPV?

24/7 is licenced to HBO ?

Boxing is on both channels, however for the big events, in this case, boxing, they will put on a PPV fight

Froch / Taylor is showtime PPV

Hatton / Manny is HBO PPV

That's pretty much it except that a lot of fights are "free" when you subscribe to the channel (it's like 15 bucks a month or something). Only the big ones like Pacquiao-Hatton are HBO PPV. There haven't really been showtime PPV's anymore.

As for the topic, I think there should definietly be a countdown. There should be a 24/7 type series in the UK at least though.

Obviously, but there has to be a name already there to spark people's interest to tune in the first place. DLH played this role against Mayweather and as a result he become known to the mainstream as well. Mayweather then in turn fought Hatton and the same thing occurred. DLH-Pac is another example.

Actually...he kind of is. The man was absolutely hilarious on Conan the times I've seen him. He's a nice guy and it'd make for an interesting series. Haye is the right opponent for that
