Definition of a European Boxing style?

I hear people mention a fighter as having that typical european boxing style quite a lot it boxing.

What constitutes a european style?

I look at fighters like kessler myself and consider him to be a good example of it.

Upright, hands up, heavy on the basic 1-2, 1-2-3 combinations. Adamek is another good example.
