Things to consider about Hatton/Pacquiao fans

First of all, consider the following about nationalistic pride that English fans have of Hatton and the Filipinos have for Pacquiao. The Phillipines doesn't have much to be proud of in terms of sports heroes, and they are considered a third world country to this day, so you have to keep in mind Manny fans consider himtheir massive achievement for them as a people. From the Filipinos I've met in my lifetime, I have liked them as they are very humble, kind, and friendly type of people, so I don't see a problem with "Pacman nuthuggers", he's their hero so why not let them have something to be proud of?

English fans in particular are very vocal and nationalistic about their sports. Watch a soccer(or football, depending on where you live) game or a boxing match featuring an English fighter such as Calzaghe or Hatton if you had any doubts about how they support their own. English people have always been a nation of pompous, better than you types. History reflects to this be true to this day, maybe not so much now as the UK is losing its ass in the debt crisis similar to the US is, as is much of the world.

My point in all this is simple. Let people support who they want. People want somebody to live vicariously through, whether you are English, American, Filipino, whatever you are. I personally like both Pacquiao and Hatton as fighters and as people they both seem very respectable and likeable. I am pulling for Hatton in this one to win in case you were wondering. Anyway, stop with all the accusations and who's better talk, the fight will answer that in itself.

the comparisons between paulie and pac are not the same. paulie had his speed but he lacked endurance. when paulie was hitting hatton to the body he would flinch when he got tagged but then again paulie had no stamina. pac has stamina, power, endurance and can last 12 rounds. just because hatton fought paulie and supposebly saw a better work rate from hatton doesn't mean anything. now that hatton is fighting pac whose at a top or prime level we will see.

Agree: Paulie wasn't throwing much either which allows Hatton to look better and keep his stamina intact because he is dictating the pace and not being punched which takes something out of you. What I did like in that fight from Hatton was that he jabbed and moved his head more and didn't look to clinch throughout. He was also throwing nice combos. He also seemed to have more energy than when he fought Lazcano. However, if the fight with Paulie was an illusion and the real Hatton right now is the version that showed up against Lazcano, then will have to go with Freddie Roach when he said Hatton is not the same since fighting Mayweather. Pac will rip Hatton apart.

Pac's a different animal than Paulie. But, I don't buy to much into Pac's wins over Diaz and Oscar.

If you dont buy into those two wins then how are you seeing pac "rip" hatton apart because those two wins are almost the sole reason he got this fight. pacs last real challenge was JMM and he got a gift decision on that. while the fight was very close not man close to no one had pac winning.

i agree thats one reason why i'm a a ricky fan here in the states, is the british ricky fans have been great for the sport as awhole...because there so passionate......i really dont see a lot of filipino people buying the pay-per-views like the brits do
