    Real good fight.

Morel seems very focus and determin than ever. He seems stronger faster and more powerfull at BW. His counter punching is still there.

In the other hand, Montiel looks very tough and determined himself. he is hungry and he wont let his fight with Vic get away by losing to Morel. This sounds very good.

Style wise is a very even match up, with Morel being the better all around boxer, but Montiel have more power.

Ill say Morel UD 115-112, but by any means I rule out Montiel KTFO Morel.

Anyway, this fight is a good one, but it'll probably happen on June 27th since HBO probably won't pay for this fight.
      No.

The winner of this fight will become the new WBO bantamWeight Champ, because Penalosa is getting stripped as soon as he steps in the ring with Juanma

"It will be an interesting fight," Montiel said in a telephone interview with Primera Hora from Los Mochis, Mexico.

"Morel is a fighter of high quality that take care and is always well prepared to fight," he added.

The boxers have to face to a preliminary agreement on June 13 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

In fact, Morel said he aims to avenge the defeat he suffered José "Carita" Lopez to Montiel in September 2001.

"It's good that he thinks that way, but its easier said than done, there is a long way. I am glad that (Morel)is saying all those things so we can prepare well and not make excuses. Undoubtedlywe will make a good show to the public, "said Montiel.

The Fighter of 30 years, will make his first appearance at Madison Square Garden, but admits that he would have preferred to be held in Mexico.

"Fighting in New York is the wish of every boxer and what better setting for this fight. It will be another classic battle between Mexico and Puerto Rico, we will battle in the ring, shared Montiel (39-2-1, 29 KO's).

Morel, meanwhile, is ranked second in the OMB and comes from a comfortable victory by decision over Nicaraguan Roberto Bonilla.

            Tentative support for Margarito

On the other hand, Montiel refused to talk about the controversy that revolves around the boxer Antonio Margarito . "I'm not who to judge him," he said.
I take it this fight will be on the Cotto Vs (?) under card but the fight hasn't even been signed yet?

....not long ago you thought Montiel was ducking Morel, but it looks like he was keeping active while claiming an interim title on the way.

This should be a great fight, Morel is highly skilled, but Montiel has the tools to outbox him, and has the better power to look for a TKO.

Yeah. HBO has to put out a lot for Cotto Clottey and then Wlad-Haye the next week to. If it's on the undercard, it sure ain't being televised.

What the hell? Why? I'm pretty sure Penalosa keeps his title regardless. WBO Champ Joe Calzaghe at 168 wasn't stripped for fighting Bernard Hopkins at 175.

he hasn't done jack **** with the title. since he fought gonzales he only had one non title tune up fight.

so they gave him the choice to either defend of move up and challenge juanma.
