Give lots of credit to David Haye

I dont give a damn who hes doing it for. but as a boxing fan I give him credit even if he is being selfish in reality. the guy is making a fight that everyone wants to see, despite crazy conditions.
and whats more, I dont think Haye is quite as unpopular as you guys believe. it sure seems like he got a lot of attention for his fights against Mac and Monte, and they arent exactly huge names.
many fighters would have sat on that popularity and made a bunch of cash while building up a winning streak of mediocre(but lucrative) wins, but Haye is going straight to the top fighting the best.
As a boxing fan, I respect him for that.
and dont tell me that other fighters would kill to be in his position. Zsolt Erdie could have made tons of cash against top level fighters, but instead hes sitting there on his title fighting bum after bum, without even trying to call anyone out. thats the easy way. at least Haye isnt taking such an easy route.Comment

B)I never said he was unpopular
C)I never said he's taking the "easy" route, but he is a PRIZE fighter so he of course he will be envied by MOST fighters who wish they could fight for big money...maybe not Zolt Erdei but most fighters would..
I just dont feel that I owe him any respect for taking a fight with normal options and a fight that HE asked for.Comment

say a man donates a lot of money to help orphans or the homeless, but he only does it for recongnition and popularity. is he still doing a good thing? absolutely. do the people he donated to care he did it for the wrong reason? no way! same thing here. so yes, hes doing us boxing fans a favor.A)If you dont give a damn who he's doing it for then dont mention that "he's doing boxing fans a favor" as part of your argument

Many fighters would not risk their undefeated streak to get a fight, and this kind of contract pretty much guarentees hes not walking away with that undefeated streak intact.Comment

getting options is different from have 2 rematch clauses thoughYou guys are gushing a bit too much. Options like this are common in boxing. The Klitschkos didnt ask for anything that King or Arum wouldnt have asked for. Besides Haye is the one that wanted this fight in the first place so nobody forced him to sign the contract. And finally, Haye is doing this for Haye, he knows thats where the cash is.
I got nothing against him per say but lets not go pretending like he's doing someone other than himself a service.Comment

A double rematch clause and a forced propmotional contract are NOT normal options. If you can name one fighter in recent years with those "options" with proof then i'll believe you.A)If you dont give a damn who he's doing it for then dont mention that "he's doing boxing fans a favor" as part of your argument
