Originally posted by Dave Rado View PostWlad did very well financially too, although given it's a voluntary defence, that's not surprising. He got a percentage of the UK TV rights fee (they're not disclosing what percentage), plus 100% of the German, HBO and other worldwide TV rights fees, 100% of the gate receipts and 100% of the sponsorship money. (According to ESPN). All Haye is getting is a percentage of the UK rights fee.

It gives Wlad the rematch option, which is standard, but it also gives Haye the agreement to fight Vitali at some point in the next 2 fights. So Haye has effectively secured fights with both brothers in one contract. That's what he wanted to begin with. It's the extra Wlad bout which is the hassle, but a rematch clause is standard. This contract kind of backfires imo.
The fact that he'll be the big underdog isn't the point - the contract stinks.

And even then, you shouldn't hold it against Vitali that he is his brothers enforcer in the event that he gets beaten. You would be the same way with your lil' brother if you have or had one. I know I'm protective of my brother even though he's older than me.

And of course he signed it, what choice did he have?

Originally posted by Dave Rado View PostPersonally I blame Boente rather than either of the Klitschkos, Chase, but as you can see from a lot of the posts on here, it has damaged people's perception of the Klitschkos themselves, whether you think that's deserved or not - and Boente wouldn't have negotiated that contract if Wlad hadn't been okay with it. And it's one thing to stipulate that he has to fight Vitali within a certain timescale, which would actually be good for boxing, if the timescale was reasonable and allowed him to fight mandatories in order to keep his belts if he won them; but quite another to stipulate that he has to fight three successive fights against the Klitschkos, which would almost certainly mean (even if he wins all three fights) that he would be stripped of his belts. That isn't good for boxing at all, IMO.
If he loses, he at least had that premature shot @ 2 titles and made a few million to boot, which is more than he has ever made at one time and is more than he could have made facing anyone else, aside from Vitali.
If he wins, he gets to fight another huge money fight with a better split and has 2 titles all while not having to officially go through the heavyweight ranks.
If, god forbid he wins again, he gets the 3rd title and the shot to beat a guy he had already previously beaten all while being regaurded as the best heavyweight in the world with earning an even better split. Not to mention that he will have been the only guy to beat both Klitschko's convincingly.
How awesome would that scenario be for a fan of Haye?
If anything, they have done Haye a huge favor here and he should really be appreciative and seize the oppritunity.

Quite frankly he gets to call his own shots and if they felt like they needed to secure their futures by adding that 2x rematch clause into the contract to ensure that they have options on those titles, more power to them if they can get away with it. If the deal was not the best thing David could get, he wouldn't have signed. He really wins either way.

This bealing about the contract **** is what's "*****". Assuming Haye does beat Wlad, what bigger follow up fights are out there for him than Vitali or Wlad II? Exactly.

LMAO
Am I the only one that see's this as a great contract for Haye?
He has a chance, to have a guaranteed shot at both Wlads and Vitalis belts.
If he is to beat Wlad, then have a rematch and beat Wlad again, he will then fight Vitaly.
He's a ****ing nobody given this chance.
I cant believe the moronic posts in this thread.
If he is to beat Wlad, what other fight is there avalible to him cept for a rematch with Wlad, which would have been an OPTION regardles of the contract.
You DO UNDERSTAND that Wlad being champ he would always have a rematch clause.
Now Haye has the extra option of beating Wlad in a rematch and then having a title shot at Vitaliys belts.......
Many in this thread, have once again shown their true colours...
