I gotta watch it again, but I seem to remember Floyd doing most of the holding against Hatton (playing him at his own game, I guess). Likewise with Paulie last November - he was hugging for dear life at some of those shots he was getting clobbered with.Comment

Punch once - clinch. Punch once - clinch.
That's excessive. Tactical and "clever" is what Hops did to Pavlik and Tito, but not for Calzaghe - that was just straight up lame. But then, Calzaghe himself looked lame as **** in that fight. If they ever rematched each other, they should agree to: 1) not clinch at all, and 2) not throw winging slaps. Only then, would a match between those two become a decent one.
Hatton against Tszyu, Collazo and Urango was pretty excessive too. Castillo held onto Hatton, though.Comment

This time I have disagree with you. In the early rounds, Floyd was holding like crazy. And the reason is -I believe- that he wanted to make it an issue immediately so that Cortez would be very keen on calling the foul later, which in fact he did, but at that point it was all Hatton's. This potential (if I interpreted it correctly) glimps of genius and a couple other things I saw in that fight, definitely bought me to considering Mayweather one of the top 5 lightweights of all time (deserving to be mentioned with Gans, Leonard, Duran, Whitaker).
Note that when Hatton was the one doing the holding, Mayweather was still fouling uninterruptedly, he showed a proficency with elbows and forearms which is extremely rare in recent years, I have to think of Saddler, for such a masterful display of using arms instead of punches. Those are still fouls, but just like a great fighter should, he got away with most of them (As you can guess, this is one of the things I mentioned above)Comment
