One of my all-time favorites. He has an impressive LW resume and at one point cut through the best at LW like 4 fights in a row. Tuff SOB, was Chavez's chief sparring partner, and had the biggest jaw I have ever seen on a Mexican. It was made to do one thing. Oh yeah, and he shook the hell out of Mayweather. HOF is next.

Castillo was definitely the better fighter of the two for me. Amazing fight regardless.

I thought so too.

I was super pissed after that fight for the same reason. I remember driving home just cussing the whole way. But in hindsight, I cant fault Chico and I dont hold it against him. He was a great fighter and a great person. RIP.

lol Yeah after a fight like that, no other fight could ever be that upsetting. But yeah, I don't blame Chico at all. Was always amazed at how he pulled it off, but then you watch him fight Clottey, and the guy was just tough as hell. Even though he lost, he never stopped tryin to win that ****. That Clottey fight was ridiculous. Chico had absolutely no quit in him at all. RIP.

Very solid fighter indeed and will go into the HOF.

Wait... I think TOO MANY guys are being listed as "HOF-worthy".

I suggest that you guys go look at the list of fighters who have been inducted into Canastota over the past generation. The list is pretty selective.

I think he looked cool against Wayka in his last fight. Whether he's really shot, past prime or whatever, he's still armed with those mean bodyshots and I enjoy seeing his opponents crumple to the floor like a sack of spuds. Hopefully he can start getting some decent fights again, even though he seems to be at 147 now...

I was one of the suckers who bought tickets, booked a room and flight for Castillo/Coralles 3 and got bamboozled because he couldnt make weight. I dont think he did it on purpose, he seemed to outgrow the division and its obvious that the fights with Chico probably ended him as a serious fighter anyway.
I don't think Ricky Hatton would stand a chance against the guy who fought Coralles in the first fight, so when I saw him in the Hatton fight and frankly the Ngoudjo fight too, I knew he was finished.

Having said all that, I think the guy is a legitimate hall of famer and has to be considered one of Mexico's greatest fighters. He beat Chico, Casa, Julio Diaz, Stevie Johnston, Floyd Mayweather(IMO), Lazcano...
That and he was in the greatest fight of all time.
