That one was more than a rumor. There were pics and an article on several website.

I saw that story and it sounded like it was a back and forth affair. Linares worked Pac over pretty good too. Besides sparring is different from a real fight.

He reminds me of a young De La Hoya... I'd like to see him fight (and beat) Robert Guerrero.

I don't see any De La Hoya in him outside of boxing type. De la Hoya was a one-handed fighter looking for the left hook exclusively whereas Linares is more of a hunt and peck fighter looking for combo opportunities upstairs and down. I think Linares is potentially very good, he has the look of a champion. He just needs to step up the comp a little. He's a champion, not a prospect.
