My thoughts exactly. Gamboa and Elio Rojas were supposed to fight but Gamboa's team decided against it. Elio can fight man I think he would beat Gamboa at this stage. His only loss was a bs loss against Diaz in Mexico, he was deducted like 5 points in that fight.

    from e spn.com

    4. Elio Rojas (20-1)

With titleholder Oscar Larios sidelined because of a cut in his last fight on Oct. 16, mandatory challenger Rojas was supposed to face 2004 Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa (12-0) for the vacant belt. However, Gamboa's handlers are understandably having second thoughts and looking in another direction.
    Next: TBA.

lmao did you see that fight man?

Rojas DOMINATED him. He was deducted like 4 or 5 points for nothing and lost a split decision. Rojas dropped to the ground in disabelief after the decision was read. Rojas easily should have won that fight but he was fighting a Mexican in Mexico and he got screwed.

This is not going to be an easy victory for Gamboa, Rojas has already been there with some tough guys (including CJohn).

He also stopped Celestino Caballero but 6 years ago, but still, a dangerous opponent.

And only 1 KO loss, Gamboa better train his ass off for this.

Did Gamboa just call this a big fight? If his idea of big fights is fighting bums while a joke of an alphabet strap is on the line, then we as fans may be screwed.
