Winky is Sure He’s Still “The (W)right Stuff”

I don't know about this one. tough fight for me to call because Winky is very defensive and Williams is very offensive. Winky would have to engage a lil more than just counter punching because Williams is not going to let Wright dictate the fight like Mosley & Trinidad did. Williams is a different fighter that switches up his punches & can **** effectively to the body as well to the head. On top of that, Winky doesn't have much power in his punches & Williams can take a punch pretty good & keep fighting. I remembered when I saw him cut above his eye in the Verno Phillips fight & he kept coming. Winky is going to have to have something new to bring to the ring but with that said I do give him a good chance because of his durability & defense. Should be an interesting fight & not as boring as people say it will be.

I'm trusting Winky on this one. He's gotta have something up his sleeve or else I doubt he would've taken this fight. Some how I see this fight being similar to the trinidad fight just not as one sided. I guess it all depends on the ring rust. I'm curious to see how pwill will do against a defensive fighter like Winky.

I was hoping to hear more confidence from Winky.
That line about trusting the fans to distinguish another decision
against him didn't sound too good. Mentality is everything.

But if he has plans for big fights later this year, then I take it
he has hidden motivation cause he knows he needs a win.

Winky's a great fighter but he has no right to complain about the Taylor fight - Winky would have got the decision if he hadn't stopped fighting in the last round; and he could have had a rematch but turned it down. Moaning about it now makes him sound like a cry baby.

And Hopkins won clearly, he has no right to ***** about that decision either, although it was quite close.

Agreed...I'll be rooting for him on the 11th tho. Winky's a cool guy overall(met him myself)...

just think any fighter struggles with williams's reach and a fighter that has had such a long layoff will take a while to shake off the ring rust. i think it would have been nice to see him take on a prime winky.

winky is a SW and that could williams some problems, but williams knows how to use his height and reach, and is just too busy, in the end i think williams by UD.

Winky UD... it's not a matter of reach...or how many punches thrown...but it's a matter of effectivity and footwork... Winky is much better than williams...

Ring rust is no factor for winky...winky never really was needed so much stamina to win a fight (except the hopkins fight, he came out and leave his shell and lost)...he just needed the peek a boo williams...

I have Winky winning this one by huge UD. PW has no defense, takes alot of shots and when he fought Quintana the KO was there for Quintana if he wanted it but he didn't risk it. If Winky has 50% of what he used to, gets the jab going and the fight being at 160lbs then PW is in for a long and maybe embarassing night.
