Andre Dirrell and Andre Ward @ SMW

How do you think these guys are progressing so far, both are talented fighters with the potential to be champions in their division. When are they gonna step up and who should they step up against?

Based on what I have seen Dirrell is clearly the better fighter.

Dirrell fights equally well out of both southpaw and orthodox stances, he is quicker than Ward and has even shown better one punch power than Ward.

Looking at their styles I also expect Ward to end up taking more shots when he steps up while Dirrell will always be able to use his legs to get out of trouble.

Im surprised Dirrell doesnt get more attention on this forum, he certainly one of the most talented fighters ive seen in and around that weight class. Great footwork and can switch hit too, serious potential there. Not enough head movement though, he might get caught by a ones of those wide looping shots when he's on the back foot.

Both of them are good fighters, both have potential, and considering their ages and experience level both should step up now. Maybe not step up all the way, right away, but both guys should be looking for a challenge they can get excited about.

I want both of them to step up now, or in Dirrell's case, step back up, I've been disappointed in his opposition since Hanshaw. It's time for Ward to step up as well. They both have quite a lot of potential.
