pacs speed... hatton is gonna get SONNED!
What's the bigger factor? Hatton's size or Pacquiao's speed?

It wont matter if hatton bull rushes him cos he'll be getting knocked out.
Hatton can box a little, if he boxes his way inside by circling then leading, he can pull this off.
Thing about hatton is, GOD himself had issues with hattons footspeed, he closes distance really quickly, but he's gotta use it in the right way in this fight. Anyhow he getting inside manny, he will rough him up so badly, dont think manny is ready for that.
just playin.. d.diaz is the poor man's version of hatton. not a discredit to hatton, but i see that left getting in all night. and no way pac's gonna fight toe to toe with ricky. he used to do it cause he could get a way with it. these higher weights, he's concentrating on these "controlled aggressions", and less on the "****** punch-happy monkey" approach.Comment

whilst being a huge fan of Manny, i see this as a relatively easy fight for Hatton. He'll lose the 1st, possibly the 2nd round, then just take over and it'll be all over by the 6th, Hatton will KO him. I think. I might be wrong.
But as a Brit, i hope im right haha
Like i said, im really not concerned about this fight at all, should be pretty straght forward for Ricky. Too much power. End of. Mind you, i know many, many people on here will disagree.Comment

Some pretty good perspectives here - I like it. My opinions on a few things I read in this thread:
1) "Ricky is too big." - a non-factor, Manny's power is increasing with every weight move.
2) "The fight will depend on Manny's ability/inability to take body shots" - possibly - although his conditioning and core training regimen are truly second to none.
3) "this is a pretty straightforward fight for Ricky" - very true - and probably the biggest factor in this fight. The fact that Ricky comes straight at you is tailor-made for Manny. He will be able to tee off with both hands with relative ease.
Noone can question Hatton's heart and tenacity, but MP is even more tenacious, IMO.
Factor/advantage:
Power - even
Speed - Manny
Stamina - Manny
Defense - Manny
Counterpuncher - Manny
I'm real interested to see Ricky after more time in camp with Floyd Sr. - I didn't see a lot of changes in him in the first fight paired with him. If he can pick up and apply the defensive tips that he gets - it could change things a bit. But in the end - I think Manny is just too fast and has too good of footwork and will probably stop Ricky on cuts around 8 or 9.
Looking forward to it, for sure.

The only chance i see Ricky winning is with body shots, but i don't see Pac fighting inside.

Paco's speed obviously. No matter what people say about Hatton (i dig him so it's not like i'm biased) he can't hang with Paco at that pace in the late rounds. Hatton's a power brawler, Paco's got too much damn speed.
That's why Hatton failed against PBF, he ran outta gas in the late rounds. Hatton's always struggled in the late rounds. He either gets em them outta there or squeezes a decision.
I'm still goin with Paco.Comment

De La Hoya(5' 10") is bigger than Hatton(5' 7"), but DLH did not use his size advantgae(Didn't even fight at all). Hatton's size and constant pressure/bullying is going to be the factor in this fight. Hatton won't be weight-drained and he will use his size against the smaller Pacquiao.Comment

Hatton i a naturally Welter. He said himself he comes in to the ring at 150+.
If he loses, he needs to retireComment

Pacquiaos' speed is overrated. Freddie Roach said Amir Khan is faster than Manny Pacquiao. Kendall Holt is faster than Pacquiao. Zab Judah is faster than Pac. Ricky Hatton's footwork is better than Pac's. I can't believe how old most of the posters on this forum are and the ridiculous things they that say just to go along with what everyone else is saying. No logic at all. It's Pre-Pavlik/Hopkins all over again with Pacquiao taking Pavlik's place, Outcome will be the same. Unbelievable posts.Last edited by PrettyBoyRoy 88; 03-30-2009, 12:21 PM.Comment
