When you are fighting at a world class level, a layoff that long could easily make the difference between winning and losing. Beating Winky would be somewhat impressive, but no way does Williams get credit for beating him anywhere near his prime.

winky is now old, very inactive, and is not a great win for ANYONE near the top of a division at this point. A good win? hell yeah, but great and deserving of a ton of credit? not so much

It's still a good win. The long layoff keeps it from being a great win. It hurts that Wink hasnt fought at 160 in about 2 years. His last fight he was a soft 170 and looked really tired in the second half of the fight.

It will be a very good win, but lets not act like Winky is an active fighter coming off a win...

I might have to agree with Jason on that one. Yes, Winky will be a huge win for PW. But i think that Winky's too smart to get laid out. He's a tactian ya feel? And PW is hella boss like that, but he's not reckless. It should go the distance if they don't make a mistake. I'm still puttin it on PW. But ya never know with the Winkster.

What was Winky's last fight? Who'd he fight after Hopkins?

a win over winky is a Very Good win. Its not a great win. Its not as impressive like it would be 4-5 years ago. Winky is past prime and has ring rust. But i feel Winkys style is the type that could have a lay off, but still be good.
Lets face it, it will be a Verg good win for Williams if he won, and if you dont think so, then your a hater.

Taylor(Yes IMO he won that fight)
                    Tito (Embarrassed Tito badly)
                    Ike Quartey

The win would be even greater if Williams is able to stop Winky.
I'm not gonna argue with that. Regardless of the layoff, Williams gets credit beating Winky.

Winky's only losses in the past 10 yrs or so came from Vargas (disputable) and Hopkins.
