Calzaghe fought Eubank on his 23rd or 24th fight. Froch is fighting Taylor on his 25th fight.
Froch - "I Can Still Knock Joe Calzaghe Out Easily"

More importantly, whether you agree or not with what Froch is saying, the fact that he's still trash talking and calling out a retired fighter makes him look obsessional and ridiculous. And it's counter-productive for him, because he could do with all the fans he can get. Not a single UK TV station has made an offer to screen the Taylor fight yet, which is both sad and telling. For Froch to turn off a lot of British fight fans when he could do with their support is just silly.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-31-2009, 05:19 PM.Comment

If Eubank was shot in that fight then Hopkins was shot against Pavlik. Eubank fought very well in that fight - he was past his prime but was far from being shot. He was still very highly ranked in world terms, was only 31, and he was the overwhelming betting favourite coming into the fight.Comment

A bit similar to Lewis when he fought Vitali, IMO. Except that I'd say that if anything, Eubank fought better against Calzaghe than Lewis did against Vitali. It was a great fight, and Calzaghe still says it was the toughest fight of his career.Last edited by Dave Rado; 03-31-2009, 05:30 PM.Comment

Anyways, again who gives a f.uck.
Are you telling me Froch calling calzaghe out is the reason the tv companies havent done a deal on his taylor fight yet?
What has froch done wrong? This is a fighting sport, he wants to fight the best, calzaghe was one of the best, froch wanted to fight him. Trash talk is a part of the sport.
Same old ****, Calzaghe fans making excuses for him not to fight anyone decent, "Dont fight dawson, he's not a name, don't fight hops you clearly won the 1st time, dont fight froch he's a nobody" But then its "Fight peter manfredo cos he's a massive star".
Bottom line: Froch is the one British fighter who wouldn't whore himself out for the same old "Calzaghe is the greatest soundbyte", instead making valid points about his resume, which the Joe blow job hacks wanna pretend dont exist.Comment

Calzaghe has had pleanty of opportunity to shut up Carl.
However when offered fights with Froch he chose
1. Evans " Welterweight " Ashira
2. Sakio " Crappy " Bika
3. Peter " Lost to Alfonso Gomez " Manfreeeeeeeeeeeeeedo.
Then when Carl is mandatory he vacates.
Carl does have a point.
Calzaghe Sucks.
Carl is garbage, fought no one, beat no one and has the defence of a 6 year old girl.Comment

He admits he got carried away in the Pascal fight - he wanted a tear-up because that's his personality and because he wanted to entertain the fans. But he knows he has to be smarter against Taylor.
Although it's part of his style to keep his hands low in general, because he thinks it gives him more leverage and allows him to throw shots from unexpected angles, he's said he'll keep his hands up a lot more against Taylor than he did against Pascal - not the whole time, but when he's just thrown a combination he'll bring his hands up to protect himself against counters.

That's so false. Lewis stopped Vitali in six. Eubank lost a wide decision. I'm not sure what "performed better" but if it involves losing nearly every round then yeah, Eubank looked better.Comment
