do does Calzaghe get double credit for beating Reid back when his name was worth something?

Eubank was 31, four years younger than Calzaghe was when he retired. He was coming off two straight wins, and his fight before them was a very close SD loss against Steve Collins - there was no shame in that. Eubank was the overwhelming betting favourite to win at the time. He put up a very good fight against Calzaghe, not quite prime Eubank, but very far from shot.

His next two fights were both epics, against a prime Carl Thompson (the guy who beat Haye when past his prime), in which he fought very well, and was certainly not shot in those fights.

Eubank was 31, the same age Froch is now. What happened was Eubank went to Cruiserweight and fought Carl Thompson (the same Carl Thompson who knocked out David Haye). I had Eubank winning the first fight, although it could be argued either way, and in the second Thompson fight Eubank was cut and the fight was stopped.

Don't underestimate Thompson, btw -- he was a tough fighter.

Reid was 36 when he fought Froch and his last good performance was against Ottke, four years earlier. No one gave Reid a chance against Froch, and he was no longer highly ranked in world terms.

Eubank was 31 when he fought Calzaghe, had won his previous two fights, had fought very well in the fight before that when he lost a close SD against Collins, and he was the overwhelming betting favourite to beat Calzaghe, and was still very highly ranked in world terms. He went on to have two epic battles with Thompson after the Calzaghe loss. He was past his prime, but was far from shot.

There's simply no comparison, and if you're honest you must realise that.

If Froch beats Taylor, Calzaghe should come out of retirement to school him and shut his big mouth.

Plus Calzaghe badly injured his hand in that fight and still won.

                  31

He lost a super controvercial desicion against Carl Thomspon in a fight I had Eubank winning by 2 rounds, not bad against a top 5 ranked Cruiserweight, in the rematch Eubank was up on all three cards fighting with one eye before the doctor pulled him out.

Does that sound like a shot fighter to you? a Super Middleweight Dropping a cruiserweight ranked top 5? I think perhaps not.

Eubank >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ANYONE on Froch's resume in terms of risk anyway, so frankly you're talking ****.
What the f.uck, im talking about 1st title defenses you tart. what part of that dont you understand.

Its not difficult is it, Froch's 1st title defense is Taylor, Calzaghe's was Branko sobot. Eubank wasn't a title defense so why the f.uck are you mentioning him?

Ps. Nice to know you think facing a shot eubank is on the same level as fighting a prime taylor.

That's right, stand by your man, weeping slut.
