The Simon fight was the first time in 2½ years AA had to go the distance. And that time he had a broken jaw against Edison Miranda. AA had 6 straight KO's before Simon.Overrated as opposed to who? Abraham. a guy who's last 3 fights before facing Pavlik will have been against an old nobody named Raul Marquez, a never was named Lajuan Simon, and Giovanni Lorenzo,a guy who lost to an old nobody named Raul Marquez. Not to mention Abraham can't even knock these guys out. If Pavlik went the distance with Lajuan Simon, I would call him pathetic. Abraham does just that, and you people still talk about this guy like he beat Jermain Taylor twice instead of Edison Miranda. And then you call Pavlik overrated?Comment

Ayala was just seconds away from the distance before he pressed his luck for no reason and got knocked out. If you think AA looked like anything more than an average fighter in that one you are kidding yourself.
Ayala is a garbage fighter and was winning rounds off Abraham in that fight just by throwing a couple punches here and there. Pavlik would not have let Ayala last that long.
Honestly the only time in the past 2 years where AA has looked like something more than a crude power puncher was against Miranda when he had 6 extra pounds to work with.Comment

AA just outgunned Ayala as he does with all his opponents. He gets the job done although his workrate is poor because he saves energy to fire those devastating hooks. Pavlik will have to look out.Ayala was just seconds away from the distance before he pressed his luck for no reason and got knocked out. For the record I have Pavlik by UD.Comment

That is my pick as well. My point is simply that AA has been looking worse and worse with each passing fight at middleweight. The fact that he looked great at 166 tells you that fighting at 160 will be a huge advantage to Pavlik.
I would also argue that Ayala-Marquez-Simon is the worst string of title defenses made by any current world champion. Just getting in the ring with a world class opponent who isn't scared of him will be an adjustment for AA.Comment

How would you then rate Lockett, Whobio and Mora????????That is my pick as well. My point is simply that AA has been looking worse and worse with each passing fight at middleweight. The fact that he looked great at 166 tells you that fighting at 160 will be a huge advantage to Pavlik.
