As I watched that fight develop I came to one conclusion. Junior is definitely not ready to tackle the big boys. If that guy had a punch he might have koed chavez. I can see why they have brought Chavez Jr along slowly by putting him in with stiffs. They thought they had another stiff tonight but that guy gave Jr damn near all he could handle. I think they had better keep feeding him stiffs. And see who they want for him next. A washed up Delohoya, John Duddy who's another stiff, and a very small Pac man......Damn Junior..............you'll never be the fighter your daddy was.Last edited by bbwoof2000; 03-28-2009, 11:09 PM.

Well, I was entertained. It was a close fight. That one "judge" that had it 98-92 better clean the lint out of his ears after being in Bob Arum's pocket all night.
Cuello used the jab to get inside in the early rounds and Jr. chose to stay there. They put some distance between themselves in the middle rounds, but fought inside in the later rounds. (Announcing the scores every four rounds is anti-climatic though, but you knew there would be some home-cooking). Cuello was definitely scoring with the jab, too bad he doesn't have power. He did cut Chavez over the left (?) eye though. Cuello's face was bloody as hell for as long as I could remember. The most hurtful punches though, upper cuts body shots, were delivered by Jr. as he attacked the body throughout.
If you didn't see the fight, it's worth watching.
More beer time.
