Not unless Arum is forcing Cotto to sign an extention to his current contract before signing the Clottley fight.

Who's your source? The guy I usually go through works with Top Rank's PR team and they've been talking about that fight since early last month. The fight is def happening. there's nobody else in the equation.

Clottey may not be huge money, but it's a tough fight and it's on the eve of the PR Day Parade which they expect a big turnout for. They could put a tomato can in there and it would do good attendance. Clottey being the opponent just adds that much more to the overall event. If Cotto beats Clottey, he's back on to big money fights.

Cotto doesn't have a choice. He's with Top Rank for the rest of the year and has a June 13th HBO date set aside for him (PR Parade weekend). Arum is pushing Clottey. What's he going to do, sit out the rest of the year?

Hatton and Pacquaio are worth more (money wise) than Cotto, and if they win in may there is no way in hell they would fight Cotto in 2 months. Cotto needs to fight Clotty or Mosley.

Miguel right now.. is in a position where he can demand some **** from arum... and im pretty sure hes doing it right now... and thats why this fight hasnt been signed yet!!

Thanks for the info. This jibes with what I've heard from Clottey's camp which is that there side has agreed and signed to all terms but they are waiting on Cotto...still. And he hasn't signed to fight although a press conference has been tentatively scheduled for the middle of the month.
