Accomplished Amateurs Starting in Deeper Waters?

What do you think about what Teddy Atlas has been saying the last few weeks on this subject? About promoters starting accomplished amateur fighters out against tougher competition, and not just padding their records. Kind of going the David Reid or Yuri Gamboa route.

Atlas is an idiot. They can easily get KO'd early in their careers an there go the future stars.

Ali, Cesar Chavez Sr, SSR, SRL, Hagler, Hearns, Duran Etc.. never did that, they all started out with padded records. Bringing up amateur pro boxers too fast is what's killing them.

Pete Rademacher. US Olympic Gold Medalist. First fight? Floyd Patterson for the HW title. His career didn't turn out too well...
