Are you serious about Toney ruining him? I mean thats a joke right? Toney's fat undisciplined ass didnt do **** to Peter but lose twice. If anybody ruined him it was the first and second losses of his career which were the Klitschkos. Damn im sure Toney is your boy but you have to be realistic with some of these posts.

*Lost once, Toney kicked Peter's ass in the first fight while the in the 2nd fight Peter dominated.

I can still remember that first fight and how mad it made me feel.

I don't think any particular fighter has ruined Peter. One can make a point that Peter's obvious lack of discipline and desire led to his demise. The Klitchskos and McCline certainly didn't help the cause.

Also, he was never that good to begin with.

"Journeyman at best" isn't a fitting description at all. You gotta understand the term "journeyman", and Sam Peter isn't one. He has only 3 losses so far. If he had 30, you might have a point there.

Yea, people saw him KO a couple of bums like Jeremy Williams, And starting to hype him a little too much. Plus he is a wife beater that bum.

A highly skilled vet can make a fresher fighter question their abilities and bring that confidence down to earth sometimes, and in ways you could include that to the "ruining" thing. Up until the Vitali ass whoop, Peter has repeatedly stated James Toney was his toughest matchup. He said it live after he beat Maskaev(sp?) too.

I thought Peter looked the best he's ever looked in the second fight with Toney, so I dont think so.

In fact, he lost his air of invincibility when he got hurt and almost knocked out against the very average McCline.

So actually I think McCline may have ruined him and Vitali just finished the job. Peter is clearly on the downside and will be used as a "name" for up and comers.
Expect to see Arreola/Peter at some point to give Arreola another name on his resume.
