Why doesn't Vernon Forrest have to face Martinez?

I see Vernon Forrest is facing a clubfighter, Jason Lehoullier on April 25. As clubfighters go, Jason is one of the best, but he's not world-class.

Why doesn't Forrest have to face his mandatory obligation to fight Martinez? Why won't the WBC strip him?

It's his tuneup before he faces Martinez or Abraham. In the agreement he made with Sergio it stated that he would need a tuneup bout in the meantime. Then the rumors started about him opting to face Arthur instead.

Yes, this has been going on for a long time now. He should either fight Martinez, or give up the title.

Because that would be the right thing to do.

I find it odd that he has not chosen his big name opponent and is taking a tune-up fight...

I mean, really, I can't imagine any fighter being a good tune-up for both Martinez and Abraham.

Unforunately, I don't really remember who Jason LeHoullier fights, so I can't be much help putting the clues together.

I have a feeling Forrest moves up to fight Abraham though.

Either way, Martinez gets a belt, so... I'm happy for that. He deserves it and is definitely going to be a stellar champion. I'd love to see him against Santos or the winner of Spinks-Lattimore. I might want to see him against Dzinziruk, but I am kind of worried that he would lose with the way people talk about Sergei, and I'm not ready for Martinez to fall off the map just yet.

Martinez is really good in my opinion and since I first saw him demolish Bunema, I have taken him as one of my favorite fighters. He has speed, agility, power and is as pure of a boxer as you can get. The guy plays it smart and looks good doing it.

Forrest knows he will get spanked badly by Martinez and he will probably choose to fight the King to get more money. I hope the King swipes the loser off the map so we can not have to worry about his antics holding up meaningful fights anymore.

After the Cintron debacle, I became more of a fan of Martinez because he is the red-headed step child of the division and I really want to see him succeed.
