Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is Bigger Than Boxing

The last time a boxer acquainted with this generation, stirred as much controversy and excitement while not fighting, was a tough kid from Brooklyn's Brownsville housing project who came into the ring with a towel as a robe. Yes, not since the late 80's and the subsequent incarceration of Iron Mike Tyson, has the media frenzy surrounded a boxer such as one Floyd Mayweather Jr. The "World Awaits Part Deux" just happens to be the boxing world as a whole who stand by awaiting his much needed return to the sport.

But there is catch, the very ones who scoffed at perceived boring outings against marquee opponents such as Oscar De La Hoya and Carlos Baldomir, have only now began to realize boxing's biggest breath taker was perhaps the only life support the sport had. And with him gone, the excitement, the adrenaline rush and glitz of mainstream boxing has had a significant ratings decline. And so, the boxing world awaits.

IMO any man who gets in the ring to put his life on the line shouldn't be called a *****. You should know better Larry..

As for the topic I don't think Floyd is bigger than boxing..he should have succeeded in other things if he was. Boxing is his home and talent.

lol @ comparing Mayweather to Tyson..
Mayweather doesn't have a fifth of the fame and recognition Tyson does.
Mainly because in the biggest fight of his life he didn't deliver.
