The thing that gets me about people who hate PBF is that...

At the end of the day, Who do you work for? If you were a cashier at a super market, do you scan those items to make those customers happy or to pay your bills? Do you clock in to make your manager happy or do you clock in to take care of your own responsibilities? Im pretty sure you wouldnt give a **** if someone complained about another store having tomatoes on sale for 38 ct a pound while your store had them on sale for 45 ct. And from the customers stand point if you didnt like it then dont shop there.

All of these people who hate floyd for not fighting this guy or getting in a slug fest with this guy are not being real with themselves. He does what he has to do to win, not to make you or me happy. If he didnt want to risk his ability to make money to make us happy nobody can be mad at him for that. Its like being mad at football team because they have a ood defense and rely on it to win games and dont half to score much.Ask yourself this: Would you risk your job to make a customer happy? If you did you would be dumb because if you were fired do you think that customer gives a fucc? Will they pay your bills and feed your kids?

He does what he does to get paid. End of story. You and I would do the same thing in his shoes. You dont like it, dont watch it.

Exactly, and if he wants to fight Pac, it should be at 140, not 144 or 147.

It is funny how people dont really appreciate Mayweather until he retired and U.S boxing went to ****!!

and now everybody wants him back...people need to start showing some respect and stop being a critic 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
You must realize (critics) that floyd is not your slave. You just cant demand he do something and when he doesnt do something he is now a piece of ****... It doesnt work that way.

This writer is just another hater plain and simple.
Why isnt he Demanding Kelly Pavlik step up and fight and be a U.S star
Why isnt he demanding Shane Mosley take on Paul Williams So it can be 2 american stars going at it.
Why isnt he asking anything for nobody but mayweather?

He says Floyd doesnt need to save boxing, but he writes a whole different story when the common denominator to all the problems in boxing right now and lack of exposure is floyd fault.

What about Bob Arum Protecting his fighters from Paul Williams?

This guy is nothing but hater plan and simple.

The only person he put accountability on was Floyd Mayweather.
and that right there is the Problem..!!

          To add to your Point.

The fact of the matter is Floyd Mayweather Is the highest grossing Boxer in BEHIND Oscar and Tyson.
and the has sold more P.P.V's than any boxing match that didn't feature a heavyweight or a Oscar De La Hoya.
FACTS ARE FACTS. cant change facts .

          like Michael Herron once wrote:

When you look pass the money, Mayweather and even the former P4P king Roy Jones are actually truer to pure boxing than most big names in the sport.

These two fighters are actually marketed for their skill set,not their personalities.

De La Hoya on the other hand, sells his Pay-Per-Views based on personality and charm alone, not boxing ability.

Is this why we watch boxing, to see personalities joust or skills clash?

When you pay to see Floyd, the expectation is that you will see the best skills in boxing. When you pay to see Oscar, there are no expectations,

he could win or lose with no penalty.

If Mayweather or Jones lose a fight, they lose everything.

They are burdened with having to be perfect. The repercussions of Jones' losses to Tarver and Johnson is the perfect example of why Mayweather knows he can't lose. If he were to be defeated, proponents and detractors in this “unforgiving sport” would attempt to destroy everything he has fought for.

Mayweather knowing this STILL moved up 5 weight classes giving up all physical advantages to prove he was great therefore risking everything he has work for .. just to achive greatness...

If you say you are going to knock someone out.. you owe the paying fans at least the effort. Why do you think the same amount of people who bought his De La Hoya fight didn't return to watch him against Hatton? There was more people buying the PPV for Hatton in the UK then there was here for Floyd in the U.S. considering the size of both countries. The author is simply pointing this out. Floyd was built up to be the face of U.S. boxing and when he got to the gates he left everyone dissapointed and retired.

which is fine by me.. I don't think Floyd needs to be the face of American boxing and I'm glad he is not. we need a fighter who will deliver.
and btw, Mosley is too old to be the face of American boxing.
Kelly Pavlik only recently burst onto the scene.. he very well may be the face of U.S. boxing one day.. as much as I like the guy and like to watch him fight.. I don't think he has the skills necessary to do so though.

I am not going to try to change your mind because honestly I can respect the fact that you admit publically that you are a floyd hater... but here is the problem with the article

The only person he put accountability on was Floyd Mayweather.
and that right there is the Problem..!!

              1. What about the promoters
              2. What about the structural problems with boxing like too many champions and belts for people to follow
              3. What about the corruption in boxing
              4. What about the rise of UFC/MMA having a impact on boxing

This author doesnt spread the blame around like a fair minded person would do...

He simply gift wrap a big piece of **** hate article and basically blame floyd for america boxing problems...

That what there shows me he is just a another hater in the pack and he has no mind of his own...
why boxingscene hired him I dont know, boxingscene already have enough Mayweather haters on the payroll it seems like they dont mind adding another..

PBF is the most overrated fighter EVER...His best win is vs Corrales a nice fighter but no where near great. He never fought Casamayor,Freitas,Tzyou,Cotto,Margarito,Willaims,e tc,etc. It's a shame because with his natural gifts and his brash style he could have been this generations Ali instead he took safe fights and never closed the show (Baldomir,DLH) You think SRL or Ali would have done that? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great article.I agree 100%.Mayweather is no Ray Leonard. He without question has the skills, but he just doesn't bring that flare to the ring with him.He does enough to win fights but ceases to entertain the crowd.Ali, Tyson, Leonard, and even Hearns and Hagler brought an aura to the ring. Whether they dazzled you with their skill and showboating or their power and ferociousness, you knew you were getting a show. Those guys took risks in the ring in their prime.I just don't see that with Mayweather. If he wants to reach that legendary stage,he has to defeat Cotto, Mosley, and either Pac man or Marquez. But if you think about it,he doesn't necessarily have to win.It could be an all action ****-it-out crowd pleasing fight that demands a rematch.Displaying a gladiator heart in the ring always win over the fans. Then, rising to the occasion in a rematch and doing it again can make you a legend in this sport. If he wants to become an icon in boxing...an immortal of the sweet science, he needs a victory over an opponent no one thinks he can defeat. That opponent would be Paul Williams. That would be equilavant to Leonard vs Hagler. It would be taking a huge risk, but a victory leaves him on that level that he THINKS he's at now.

yes, to you it's all about haters. as if people go to sleep plotting against Mayweather ...

what I do know is this:
almost 2.2 million people in the U.S. payed to watch the DLH v. May fight..
not even half of that returned to watch the next, why?
now tell me, if Floyd would of done what Pacquiao did to Oscar that night
don't you think he would of had America in his pocket? exactly..
