its obvious that arum and floyd will never work together again. arum will never put his cashcows in against floyd.

Mayweather was great at the lower weights but once he came up to 140/147 he never faced the best.
mosley said he had a toothache at 147.

as long as cotto is with arum, floyd/cotto will never happen.

Floyd hurt boxing by becoming a mainstream sport in a sport that has very few fans left ok. These other fighters are not hurting the sport because nobody cares about them. So boxingscene writers if Mayweather is so irrelavant please stop posting articles about Mayweather on the main page.

and Dave Rado, what does worldwide have to do with u.s. numbers?

Seeing as how those people were paying to see Ricky, it further goes against anything you're trying to prove in regards to Mayweather being a draw.

But do tell, what were the numbers worldwide for, "The World Awaits"?

        This should be interesting.
Hatton Mayweather did the second hightest PPV buys that year behind Mayweather De La Hoya. Are you saying they were supposed do 2 million buys again?

You may as well say what do the US sales have to do with worldwide numbers. Pointless statement. Obviously if two big names from the US fight, they will have more combined fans in the US than if one big US name fights someone from outside the US. Just as obviously, it's the overall PPV sales that matter, not those from any one country. The only reason that the DLH fight sold more in the US was that both fighters were from the US. The Hatton fight sold less in the US because Hatton is not a US fighter. But the Hatton fight sold more overall, and it's the overall sales that matter.

            Fact.
Rocky Marciano 49-0, pound for pound best fighter ever.
Joe Calzaghe 46-0 pound for pound 2nd best fighter ever.
Floyd Mayweather 39-0 pound for pound 3rd best fighter ever.
Sven Ottke 36-0 pound for pound best fighter ever.

All because they had to do what was best for them and their families.T his is sports, not personal life.

Nobody cares what an athlete does for their families. I don't watch sports because I care about their families.

Quit using that **** as an excuse.

Everyone has their opinion but I can't be mad at someone for doing whats best for them. I just wasn't born with that kind of sickness (hate) in my blood. I like Floyd, but he was never gon be considered the best all time imo, but he did what he had to do & his accomplishments speak for themselves. Cotto ( you gotta love the kid, a true warrior), wasn't gon stop the haters from discrediting Floyd. To take the situaition further I'm not convinced Mayweather would of passed on the Cotto fight had Arum not been so blatantly jealous of Haymon. It seems to be the reason Paul Williams can't get a fight with Cotto or Margarito at the moment.

Homie, I know you got more sense than to catagorize Mayweather or Calzaghe with Sven Ottke. Rocky Marciano was the best in his era, & sense I don't have enough boxing knowledge of that era, I'm leaving that **** alone. Dawson was Calzaghe's best inerest & he was a huge risk no reward option. As a fan sure the fight would of been nice to see, but Calzaghe was coming off 2 wins over legendary fighters in America, so he did what the haters asked him to (what more do you want?).

ps: I'm sure Mayweather could pot shot his way to victory against any opponent he wanted to.
            I see Calzaghe outpointing Dawson.

Casual fans get turned on by prefight hype, and when they feel lied to and cheated out of their monies,

                  they don't return.

The common line after he beat DLH, "I'll never pay to see that guy fight again".

                  and most didn't.
I think you need to pick some other Mexican fighter, because Margachito fought the best with plaster
