I've never met a hardcore boxing fan who knows the **** very well. Just the average fan who occasionally watches big name fights like Oscar de la Hoya and the only true hardcore fan that I know has too much work and no time to follow boxing.

Almost everybody loves that damn MMA. I run to those SOB on a daily basis.

This applies to me as well.

Nobody in my real life inner circle follows it, but I always find myself referencing it anyway.

When I kick my brother's ass in a video game, I'll say something like "I Tarver'd that ass" or "That was the worst mismatch since (insert mismatch fight here)".

            They never get it though.

I have friends that come over and watch bouts at my house and they are always laughing cause I watch boxing all the time. Every Friday, I watch it and then Saturday too provided it is on. I have like 250 DVDs, most with full broadcasts on them so there is plenty to watch.

When I talk to my friends, they only know big names which is ok with me because they are interested in watching the fights; they always ask me if boxing is on and if they can come over to watch it. People at school of course usually only know Tyson or Ali or Mayweather and such, but at least they know or remember something from the advertisements they see regarding boxing events.

I think that inside, people naturally like seeing a fight...it just does something-something good!

Well being mexican i know a lot of people that like boxing so i dont have that much trouble finding other boxings fans. But when i'm hanging out with my closest friends or people that arent mexican i usually dont even bring up that i'm a boxing fan cause when i talk about it theyjust stay quiet not really interested. Most of my close friends are huge football and basketball fans.

It also speaks volumes about the lack of true star power in today's boxing, post-DLH and Tyson. If all they remember is Tyson and Ali, then it's a pretty sad state of affairs (although I'm sure that quote has been repeated over and over in different forms lately).

A girl at work enjoys boxing and watching it live yet she knows nothing about it apart from Carl Froch.

I talk to my girlfriend all the time about boxing, I know she doesn't give a **** about it but I don't let that get in the way.

She likes Amir Khan after he appeared on that Beat he Celebrity show. lol.

She bought me Joe Calzaghe's greatest hits DVD for Christmas.

Shes like Wladimir Klitschko and says he is a very impressive looking athlete. To which I agreed. I then told her he has no inside game, and she said 'inside what?'
