Bert Sugar is an Obsolete Clown

It is an opinion piece. When I look at Sugar its what I see. His analysis of the heavyweight division was pretty lightweight in my opinion. I think part of it was also Teddy Atlas fatigue from the past weekend and his horrible job. So when I saw Sugar parrot the same lines enough was enough.
As for your claim that the talking points were baseless, aside from making fun of his caricature appearance, I quoted him directly from the clip. I dont know if you watched it but those were all things he said.
The site is just for fun, I'm not trying to make any money off it. I just enjoy writing about my favorite sport without worrying about edits.Last edited by poontango; 03-25-2009, 10:12 PM.Comment

Im sorry but did you write bert sugar has tons of character? I mean honestly you cannot be serious. I have never in the last twenty years heard that guy say something that sounded halfway intelligent. Everything Ive ever heard him say, I either knew it already or it was common sense. And for him to say that the Klitschkos are "fight safely Russians" and that we need more KO's when the top two HW's now have the highest KO percentage in the history of boxing is just ******ed. His look is not timeless, he needs it for his lack of personality and charisma that he obviously doesnt have. You can tell that even Angelo Dundee and Brian Kenney dont like him either. That was weak. It came off as nothing more than a hate driven rant. With claims like "this a$%hole is obselete and nothing more than a gimmick," supported by evidence like.. "this rube wears an old hat and he doesn't like the HW division." The only problem is.. his look is timeless, he's got tons of character and he's intelligent. Also, at the end of the day there are very few people who actually like the HW division right now(so he's not alone in that thinking). I didn't read any of your other work but if it's anything like this then you're a noob and need to start over.. Interesting idea for a website though, Good Luck!Comment

i'm with bert on this one. the klits dont have that star power to crossover into mainstream consciousness. i dont need to back that up either...go ask your neighbour mowing his lawn who either klitschko is...blank look yeah?... then ask him who iron mike is.... and thats what our sport needs more exposure.
the truth is nobody cares bout 2 white dudes from the ukraine. i've heard angelo dundee say the same thing too. that you should last that long in your chosen field would be an accomplishment in itself. a bit more respect to those in the know cause you came of like a kid throwing his toys round the cot.Comment

Seems to be a reoccurring theme for some reason. Bert Sugar has seen things and experienced things that you could only wish to see and experience. He has actually been around many, many pro boxers and if you were a fan- you would respect him for that alone.
P.S.
