okay people on the first couple pages are smoking serious bad ****! Hatton would be a horrible match up for Marquez at 140! Hatton's old style of being the aggressor and wrestling would be perfect because he would be all over marquez negating him any room to throw the counters that Marquez is so good at. not to mention Marquez has gotten noticeably slower as he has stepped up in weight which hasnt been a big deal but against Hatton he would need that speed to beat Hatton to the punch to keep him off but which is something that he's not comfortable at to begin with at least not throught the course of a fight. hatton would bully the smaller marquez and win by 9th rd KO!

marquez is a genius boxer, even the p4p king had a very hard time with him

i say if he has no issues moving up in weight, i see him beating hatton

I have a ton of respect for Marquez trust me but i dont see it against Hatton. Pacquiao is a lot more different style than Hatton and is actually a better matchup for Marquez because of Pac wanting to fight and getting himself out of position a lot cause of his aggressiveness. Marquez being the great tactician that he is takes has taken advantage of Pac's mistakes! However Hatton is a mauler that would be fighting marquez inside the entire fight and i dont think Marquez has the speed to keep Hatton off. marquez needs room to work with!

Yeah but when comparing the two. Who is a champion and only has one loss? Enough said.

As far as Marquez-Hatton. I think Hatton will win. Marquez never had experience in moving up in weight. The man is great and has a ton of fights but he doesn't fluxuate. He pretty much stayed in the lower weight classes his entire career. For him to move up and face a talent like Hatton. I dont see him winning.

Lets not forget. If Hatton would have never loss. Everyone wouldn't be questioning Hatton's ability right now.

If JMM performed the way he did against Diaz i see hatton pulling the upset........but if JMM could adjust and box from a distance, and carries enough power for ricky to respect it JMM would probably take it.

marquez is a warrior, you can't bully them

he breaks down fighters... looking for weakness and glitches in your game, hatton has plenty of that

enough said? all i said was that they are the same type of fighters, meaning they have similar styles, both preassure fighters who love to attack the body. nuff said

hatton is a good fighter, but his game is very simple. marquez is the most skilled boxer right now. a tactician/genius/trickster kind of boxer, i dont think hatton has what it takes to overcome this
