Jones wanting Lacy then wanting Taylor of all people...Is this a cry for Hopkins? If Roy some how were to win will Hopkins be interested ? Especially with a win over Taylor! I think Roy had his time with Calzaghe, and blew it!
Is Roy Jones trying to get to Hopkins?????

Pretty much.
You know how cats have that hair in their ears, that automatically makes then turn rightside up when they're falling?
I got hairs just like that, and they itch whenever B-Hop's name is mentioned on this board.Comment

If RJ and Bhop ain't rematched by now, they ain't gonna. And droppin down to 168 to target lacy and Taylor ain't gonna get RJ any closer to Bhop. Bhop has basically got either a Dawson or Adamek fight left in him and then he's done.Comment

I agree, Hopkins at this point would dismantle Roy. Thats been the case for years now, there is a reason the fight hasnt happened.
Roy should be careful what he wishes for in general these days, though. Taking on Jermain Taylor at 168 is a very bad idea. Everyone likes to hate on Jermain, but the guy is an elite young athlete, and very strong at SMW.
Roy is simply way past his prime, and right now he is risking his healthy every time he fights an elite opponent. Its like the guy spent his whole career not getting hit and staying safe, now he could be risking all of that hard work he did to keep himself from getting damaged.
As a fan, I dont want to see a 40 year old Roy Jones Jr. lying on his back staring up at the lights. That would just suck.Comment

I hear you. Taylor is a risk, the kid is young, fast, and he packs a solid punch. He's athletic and quick enough to make Roy go into earmuff mode if you ask me.I agree, Hopkins at this point would dismantle Roy. Thats been the case for years now, there is a reason the fight hasnt happened.

Hopkins is an easier style for Roy, because he's less active. But his accurate countes and right hand leads will find their mark. And Roy may look like a god with his hands against someone like Sheika, but he won't look nearly that fast against a quick, elusive guy like B-Hop.
I wonder if it did happen, if Hopkins had the opportunity to stop Roy, if he'd go for it.
I don't think he'd have the heart to full out squash Roy.
Then again, he could smile while doing it.
You just never know with a guy as unreadable as Hopkins.Comment
