Pac-Man: One of the World's Most Influential People?

Time Magazine has Pac-Man listed as one of the finalists for its most influential people of 2009.
Now, before you boil and hit the tilt button, we're not talking about the video game.
And we're definitely not talking about the football player formerly known as Adam "Pacman" Jones; the guy who loved the um adult nightclub establishments.
We are talking about the Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao, currently the top pound-for-pound boxer in the fight game today. But his influence goes way beyond anything he has done in the ring, which has been a lot.
Pacquiao is the pride of the Philippines. His service to his homeland is so unselfish that he is afraid to go into politics because he feels he can do more for his people through boxing.
Pac is just one of nine sportsmen on the Time finalists list (202 people and groups total). Among the others are Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, Kobe Bryant, Mark Cuban, Alex Rodriguez, Lance Armstrong and Danica Patrick (I don't think I missed anyone).
Even if he doesn't make the final cut, give Time credit for recognizing Pacquiao's impact.
