  • I think the Only Way to Beat Vitali Might Be through a War of attrition

I honestly don't see any of the current bunch outboxing him. Gomez is probably the best boxer in the division and he couldn't do it [not with the tactics he used anyway]. I think it might take someone to simply fight rough, even a little dirty, and bloody him up and make it a war of attrition. But there's no one who could even do that it would seem. Like I've said, McCall is probably the only one who could take that kind of punishment, and even then he'd probably lose most of the rounds, with maybe a late rally at the end.

This Chris Arreola fellow will most likely be picked apart and TKO'd like most of Klitschko's other opponents. Maybe we'll see more in his next fight, but I've really not seen anything from him to suggest he could win a war with Klitschko.

Anyone agree? Holyfield was a rough fighter, even dirty some might say. He also had the chin to take a beating and come back.

I seem to remember a certain overweight black man shredding Vitali's face up en route to a TKO victory.

I agree. There's no one around to do it either. The bigger durable guys like Arreola and Valuev are simply not good enough, and the Povetkin, Chambers, Chagaev group seem too small.

Haye might rough Vitali up for a few rounds. Hell Chambers might hold his own early as well. I just dont see any heavyweight being able to withstand the punishment for the long haul unless they have a chin like McCall.

there is no HW that can beat vitali... they are all garbage.

to beat vit, all you need is movement, speed, a good chin and lots of stamina.

slow as vit is, its possible to outpoint him at this point of his career.

Uh, he lost to Chris Byrd becasue he quit, and he lost to Lennox Lewis due to a horrific cut. Nobody's unbeatable, Marciano would have a lot of losses nowadays.
