I know that the he is one of the most talented boxers of the last decade but he has been retired for a year and most boxing discussions in the middle to lower weights end up turning into Mayweather debates.

Its going to stay that way for a long while. There is no doubt that he splits opinions on who he fought and who he should have fought but its killing the sport and making it look like a one man show. Manny is the rightfull p4p king and a good one in any era in my opinion.

You're wrong. The best thing that could happen for boxing might be for Mayweather to fight Pacquiao. But for Floyd to just get KO'd that wouldn't add any popularity to the sport.

Do you really think that fans who don't like the sport now will be attracted to the sport immediately after and as a direct result of Mayweather getting KO'd!?! No offense, but that's a pretty wild assumption.

Right. It's only good for boxing if it happens in a HUGE fight. But the fact that he would be getting KO'd wouldn't be what's great for boxing. The HUGE fight would be what's great for boxing. Because no one is going to become a fan purely on the basis of Mayweather getting KO'd by just any old body.
