No, he's not. There are still great fights being made and happening without Floyd. In Floyd's division, there will still be great matchups to be made. Cavs vs. Lakers without Kobe and Lebron? Devestating. C'mon now. Floyd's not as important to his sport as Kobe or Lebron.

Without Kobe and Lebron, the NBA would suck.
I can't say the same about PBf and boxing.

left thier sports after being out for a year. Greenburg stated: "If he does come back, it will be no different than Peyton Manning or Tom Brady coming back to their teams after being out for a year."

Greenburg went on to add that Mayweather Jr's return to boxing may mean more to the sport because Boxing lacks the depth right now in star power: "Picture LeBron or Kobe taking off a couple of years and then coming back. Floyd may mean more to his sport than they do because we don't have the depth of star power in boxing as they do in those sports," stated Greenburg
It's a trap Horus, You should know that. What they really want is something Floyd has and they secretly believe none like Floyd should have. They want it back so bad... Right now Floyd is living history, no other 5 category champion has ever retired undefeated. Ever! You understand that? It's very important boxing moves past Floyd and let him enjoy his life outside of boxing. What better way to quit than a KO victory over a younger, undefeated very good himself, champion? Can Floyd possibly outdo it? Maybe only by beating Pacquiao but no one can make him do it if he doesn't want to.
Take Joe Calzaghe for instance. How many voices screaming "Joe come back?" The guy has fought 2 40 year olds and ****ing retired. No ABC president is saying he should be back trying to lure him back. Oh maybe an undefeated white fighter has no drawing power... And that's why you still to this day hear about Rocky Marciano, who's only claim to fame was beating 139 year old (joke but he sure fought like one and they picked him out of retirement and it was a sad sight to see him fight) Joe Louis. He too retired afterwards not fighting Holmes and the others up and comings. Nothing against it, it was his choice as it is Zaghe's and Mayweathers. I'm just saying the treatment these event get is VERY different.

            I voted no.

            Why would he come back?

            To loot boxing again?

One megafight and then walk away?

Claiming you've done all you could and had fun - until the next megafight pops up.

Stay retired you hoe ass motha****a.

Well at least you are honest. But wtf do you expect Floyd to comeback to? fighting much bigger welterweights and then maybe try the middleweights out? He'd comeback to do business and who the only man who has a legit claim to rival with Floyd as the best of this era? Pacquiao. A win over Pacquiao would of course get discredited now but in a decade or so Floyd would definitely be a legend. Anything Floyd would sell would be an hit, trust it.

If Floyd were to come back to fight Pacquiao and Cotto or whoever the top dogs are when he feels like returning then I am all for it. As long as it isn't just one fight and then him crying again retiring for the ninth time. He's either in or out. This back and forth **** is getting old fast.

how could mayweather mean more, he doesn't sell out arena's, he doesn't fight all the top names in and around his division, his fights are far from exciting, this is just more hyping of a guy that i think put the stink in boxing the last two to three years before he retired, boxing has nothing but exciting fights and match ups that we the ticket and ppv buying fans have wanted to see since floyds retirement. fighters aren't hanging around waiting to see if they get a shot at floyd, instead they're trying to fight to see who is the top dog out there and most of them are fighting one another, as to where when floyd was still active in boxing, no one wanted to risk a fight because it could result in losing out at a shot at floyd.
there was many, many fights floyd should've fought before he retired, cotto, clottey, margarito, williams, mosley, etc. but he didn't instead he held out in fights fought other guys and had people waiting on him and what floyd was going to do, all the while, us fans are screaming for certain match ups, that floyd and his people didn't and dont want to deliver on, leaving us with less than desirable fights or no good match ups at all. so i do not see how floyd means so much to a sport, they're trying to make him out to be a ray leonard type character, someone who fought everyone that was in and around his division, something which floyd has not done or even come close to entertaining the idea. where is the national support of floyd like someone of sugar ray leonard? floyd doesn't even come close to anything of that stature, so how in the hell does floyd mean more to boxing than those kobe or lebron does to basketball, when kobe and lebron have an unwavering diehard fan base that stretches across the globe, floyd is barely liked here in his own country, hell even his home town!!??! i'm not saying floyd isnt liked, but he sure as hell isnt anyone who is larger than the sport, or someone that can save boxing, because as far as i'm concerned floyd is one of those type fighters that have helped run boxing into the ground, and boxing hasn't been better in years since he left, so in that regard, i would say floyds been good to boxing, his departure has been good for boxing...............

Nobody but jordan was ever going to hold that title at that point, even if he was playing baseball.
