Yeah he relies on being able to bully his opponent using his size to his advantage.
But u bring up his weight come fight night, most welters come in heavier than that, its not like they enter the ring weighing 147, they blow up to 160+.
Cant remember which welter it was but I read on here he came in at about 180.

So why is all of this BS, of Hatton not being a WW, or he is not the same? I think thats bull ****, he met 2 fighters better than him st WW thats all!!!!!!!!

      good thread, dope ass avi

But he basically weighs the same on fight night when he's in either division.. To me that means he doesn't possess the skills to win against someone who may have a certain strength advantage.. not saying he's a bad fighter though

            this should sum things up.
It sums thing's up for fools like you who either lack boxing knowledge or is just a blind hater. If minimal skills get you to 46-1 - the loss being against the best in the business then most fighters would take that in a heartbeat. Can you explain what ilegal tactics he used in his last fight for example?

He didn't need to use illegal tactics because he wasn't getting hurt. He was fighting Malignaggi, FFS. Not only that, but Malignaggi only had one hand.

That's fair enough but how many of the top WW's do you have him beating? From:

Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Berto, Williams & Clottey.

I think he only stands a chance against one of them and even then I would bet on the other guy winning.

170 and that wasn't a welterweight fight. They fought at 150 I believe.

Cotto comes in about at 155 and Berto, Mosley, and Margarito come in at no more than 160. Hatton is a HUGE guy at 140. Hes even bigger than Mayweather.

                      Which one out of curiosity?
I reckon he would break Williams in 2. But then again I think everyone would break that skinny fecker in two with a body shot. I'm still waiting.
I think he'd beat Berto, and lose an enteraining close fight with Cotto at a catchweight of 144ish. 147 Cotto hurts Hatton at his own game.
Mosley beats him easily (assuming he fights like he did against Marg, cant rule out that he might not be able to pull of as good a win as that again at this stage of his career.)
And Marg should be in jail so forget about him.
