Is the Heavyweight Division at its worst because

No, it's because it's bad, and people pretty much ALWAYS say that the HW era is currently weak.
The 80s were the age of the "lost heavyweights". *******, gluttony, laziness, etc...
I even remember writers complaining in the early 90s about it being weak. Now it's often looked upon as the 2nd greatest HW era in history.
It doesn't matter if it's American or Euro dominated. People have always complained about the current state of the HW division.Comment

Terrible match-making is a big part of the problem. I'm sure a lot of people would be able to overlook their flaws if the fights were more exciting, such as Brewster-Lyakhovich was.
Make better match-ups for example Dimitrenko vs Povetkin, both of them always come to fight. I'm quite sure the winner would end up looking pretty good and perhaps the loser as well.Comment

The division as a whole sucks, nationality has nothing to do with it. Anyway, the United States' best hope right now is a fat and lazy ("I don't like Big Bear...") guy, that sucks badly.Comment

its just a bad division. I mean, look at Holyfield. based on the wars hes been through, you would think that he would have been done with boxing by the time he was 35.
the guy should be a world champion right now a decade later.
and this is after he was banned from boxing by an athletic commision...
although I think it has potential to get better. I like Boytsov, Dimitrenko, Povetkin, Haye and Arreola, and think they could make some fun fights if they ever end up fighting each other.
but for now, its basically Vitali and Wlad. everyone else is awful.Comment
