I used to hate Naz but love him now. Shame the way his career fizzled out but I get the feeling he doesn't value the notion of legacy quite to the same extent most die-hard boxing fans do, otherwise he would have come back.
He came, he dazzled, he made his money. Sometimes I think....who are we to demand he carried on fighting to prove something to us? If he felt he was past his best and the motivation and aura wasn't there, what's the point of a half-hearted come back attempt?
Re Ingle/Naz - I see the parallels with the Hearns/Steward dynamic but the split sort of kills it for me. Whereas even now, Steward adores Hearns' and compares any fighter to Tommy. Those two will just be inextricably linked. Hearns was Manny's masterpiece, the one who will never be bettered.
