How come Headbutts cause massive trauma in the form off Cuts and Lumps

    But not knockouts?

I always wondering how there could be so much force in a butt that it can split some 3 inches of skin ....much more then any punch...but it would not put a fighter out like a punch will.

A human head is harder than a fist, but a simple headbutt up close, even if deliberate, doesn't carry the force of a hard punch.

I dunno i've seen plenty of people sparked out in street fights with headbutts. I suppose its about the leverage and then force generated.

was it in a jaw? was it moving fast enough to cause dizziness or a concussion
knockouts is more about speed and placement to cuz shock than anything else

Cuts from headbutts are due to skin being trapped between two hard surfaces of bone colliding with too little skin in between to cushion the blow, whereas due to the layers of padding in gloves and wraps as well as give between the bones in the hands, the skin is put under less pressure in any one particular spot.

Knockouts, on the other hand, are most often due to the brain bouncing off the inside of the skull or whipping around quickly. This kind of force is incredibly difficult to generate when just using the muscles of your neck.
