Everything he's earned throughout his career is what gives him the chances... just like every other hall of fame fighter that fights on past his best days, are still able to get title shots, based on what they have accomplished in their primes.

What did Barrerra do? What did Holyfield do? What did Larry Holmes do?

They had hall of fame careers.

Can he still make super-middle? He wouldn't be the same. Unless he goes for a non-title catch-weight fight.

Hes been saying he can no problem.. he weighed 170 for the trinidad fight and said he felt great... and he weighed 173 for the Sheika fight, which he didnt even have too... I personally think he could do it.. but ya never know...

I'm a big Jones fan, but all this weight gain, weight loss, weight gain, weight loss, this division, that division...how can that be good for his body?

If he thinks he can do it, then he can. He knows his body best. But I still think that the big weight loss after Ruiz played a part in his "KO by...." losses.

Jones is old but not shot and will give any top guy problems. People are just looking at Jones from the 90's and say he's shot. He's just not the BEST P4P king anymore. He's touchable and the fact that people say he's shot just proves how GREAT he once was. He will give any guy problems and hang with the best. He just wont DOMINATE anymore.

I am not sure where you have been for the past five years but anytime Roy Jones has fought anything close to a world class fighter he has had his ass handed to him. And that is not my opinion it is fact. As far as trying to compare Jones to Hopkins that is just insane. I believe that Hopkins is a freak of nature and a fighter like him only comes along once in a lifetime if even that often. And along with Hopkins you also mentioned Big George. One thing I will say about trying to compare Roy to those fighters is the style of fighters and how they fought cannot be compared and nothing else needs to be said. But, I will give you credit that you mentioned two fighters that were successful out of how many thousands that were not and fought way past their primes? And if you want me to start making a list of those fighters I will most definitely come up with more then just two examples, and it will take awhile to compose it.

In closing I would like to say that I am sure Roy can beat club fighters and maybe even some fringe contenders. However, he has already proven that he can no longer beat world class fighters, if you don't believe me look at his record since 2004. He has not beaten one top 25, mush less a top 10 fighter, in almost six years. Plus, what does he have to prove by beating up tomato cans? He is a shoe in for the HOF and I would hope he still has millions in the bank. So, I ask again what does he have to prove? And if you are truly a fan of his I don't understand why you would want to see him fight another fight. After all beating up washed up club fighters only proves one thing. And what it proves is that Roy can still beat fighters that are lacking world class talent and proves nothing else.

If you did not compare Roy to George or Hop I will go ahead and do it for you. When they both fought into their forties they both were able to beat world class competition, and I will say it again, Roy has shown that he is no longer capable of beating world class competition. Actually he has shown the opposite because he has not just lost but has gotten whooped by anything close to a world class fighter in the last five years. And the fact is he had not even forty yet and all his career will be become is a side show, it has happen to many a great boxer before him and I am sure it will happen tho many after him. In my opinion his career ending fights should have already been fought when he got knocked cold and then got whooped by an old Calzaghe.

i think id rather see taylor, if he beats froch, try and clean up the rest of the division.
