Vazquez and Marquez Headed To Retirement?

That said, this might be it for him. From what I have heard, Izzy Vasquez might be all done. He’s had two surgeries on his detached retina and the scuttlebutt indicates that he may not recover as expected. Time will tell. On the Marquez front, rumors are swirling that he has had issues in the gym with dizziness during training and may not be fit to return to the ring for some time.
That was posted over at maxboxing by Gabriel Montoya, it seems like the three fights have taken a lot out of them both, shame if it's true.

that's sad I'd like to see more of them and their thrillogy was a great one! it's a shame it took so much out of them though. if they retire, boxing is losing two great champions.

      Men thats sad.

First of all I hope they are OK.

I was really hoping for Juanma To fight them. If they do retire, I guess it will be Penalosa, teh Caballero, and the move up to featherWeight.

Dang, I was hoping for Rafa vs caballero too.

I hope they dont have to retire!!!!!!!!!!

I'm slightly torn here. Vazquez is one of my favorite fighters and it would be sad to see him go but I want him to have a productive life after boxing. The last thing I want to see is for him to fight as a shell of his former self and get beat badly i.e. Corrales after the 2nd Castillo fight.

            Reality is a b*tch sometimes.

            I hope they're all right.

I really hope they've made enough money to be able to actually retire without having to risk their health and comeback to fight, Thats if the story is true...I hate stuff like this and the more reason why boxers alway go for the money fight.

Even though they gave us 3 wars fights they didnt get the recognition they deserve to get for fights like that.

what a shame.. we fans are the one who are on the losing side if ever this is true.. two great champions who are willing to give their best inside the ring.. hope they are both ok and fit to continue fighting at the elite level.

Abner Mares has a detached retina, but of course he is lieng and moved down in weight to avoid Juanma.

Maxboxing is sucking ****. Noway, are all three of them sick.

Marquez is such a great fighter huh, if it wasnt for the dizzyness that suddenly appeared he'd be an ATG !! LOL

And Izzy and mares both have a detached retina, and both have been in too meny wars. LOL Mares, moved down in weight because he was scared. And this is fluff.
