Man, if this is really true, that just sucks. I'll have to wait for confirmation, but.....

I was beginning to wonder what was up with all the time they were both taking off from fighting.

I don't want to be selfish and hope that they come back to fight again. I'd rather see them both living happy lives with their families, than in another ring battle just for our entertainment.

Much love and respect to both of these warriors, fighters like Izzy and Rafa don't come along everyday. And I wish them well in whatever they decide to do.

You sound like their dad or mom !! That is all, I wanna hear how they bleed from both eyes again, to care.

Since you know everything, what is Abner Mares long history of health promblems, and why did he move down in weight?

Nooo, he devolped dizzyness a year later at the same time Izzy devolped an detached retina. Explain that, don't just sit there and say the time'ing wasnt the same...
Truth is, these guys owe you nothing. For all we know it may have been a blessing in disguise because Lopez could have gotten KTFO by them.

I've never claimed to know anything but I know Mares had a lot of issues with his appendix and didn't have health insurance to deal with the issue, which forced him out longer than he should have.

Mares moved down in weight because it appears to be his natural weight. If you can make 117, why fight at 122? To appease a sadistic nationalist who think Tito Trinidad still has it?

Gabriel Montoya, who is both a personal friend of mine and a great writer, holds a lot more credibility in my eyes than you do.

The vicious pwnage must still sting, huh?

Mares moved down in weight long before Lopez was a champion. He has had all of his notable fights at 118 and hadn't fought anyone as a junior featherweight. Don't be a n00b. He moved down in weight because he could.

And Izzy and mares both have a detached retina, and both have been in too meny wars. LOL Mares, moved down in weight because he was scared. And this is fluff.

Typical jock douche bag who thinks that a boxers only goal in life is to fight till their brain turns to mush.

The Sad Truth. As a Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez fan they made me appreciate the sport of boxing. Many times we get mad that are fighters don't have the balls to continue or are making excuses for not fighting. Guys like this are a rare Comodity in a brutal sport. Other boxers are a dime a dozen but Fighters like IZZY and RAFA are few in a generation.
