I think it does a little to be honest. It serves to dispell the idea that Jones was a 100% shot fighter when Calzaghe fought him. Was he diminished? Yes. But I don't think he is completely shot. If Roy fights a top 5 fighter at 175, that will determine exactly how Joe's win over Roy will be perceived. If Roy could win a fight against that level of fighter, which I don't think he can, that would significantly boost that win for Joe IMO.
