Vitali is definitely not the same fighter he was pre retirement. Although he won in a tough fight tonight and did fairly well for being 37 years old, I believe if this was the Vitali pre retirement this fight would have been over much sooner.
Vitali seemed slower, and winded a lot more than in the past.
I advice Vitali to stay in the game for no longer than a year in which he could get a good 2 or 3 fights and then retire before a fresh young dog retires him.

Yeah I agree i think that a fast young guy could give Vitali some real trouble now.

Vit did better against Gomez than he did against Bird long time ago. Gomez is fast, technical lefty with a KO power. I was impressed how well Vit did against such a crafty lefty. I did not see "slowing" down, but maybe it is just me.
