Roy's power seems to have come from his explosive movement. He'd literally leap at you to land his punches, but he hasn't been able to do that for years. After Roy lost his explosiveness, he started going to the ropes and letting people batter him.
Well, I don't quite know Sheika's backround, but he fought a lot of good fighters, including Glen Johnson who he beat/put on his ass, and I can assume he has a very good chin. He was voted runner-up in ESPN's most exciting fighter thing they did, and I can imagine his chin is top notch.
I doubt Roy's lost power, he put Calzaghe on his ass and as they say, speed = power. He may have lost a little bit considering that his speed isn't as good as it once was, but for 40 years old he's still REALLY fast.

Agreed. When is laying on the ropes in the first round without being hurt a good thing. Roy use to take fools apart in the middle of the ring. Now he lays on the ropes and shows more dance moves then throws punches.
Yeah thats what I thought as well. I mean he still has handspeed but **** he hit Omar at will and landed flush shots and a few years back those would have KOed anyone if he was landing like that.
Also he couldnt put away a retired Trinidad which a younger Roy would have done no doubt.
His power seems extremely declined.
He looked good but keep in mind Omar is garbage at this point. Hes always had his speed but folds when pressured and Omar didnt pressure at all he just stood there like a human punching bag.
That was an early stoppeage but what do you expect when you are not answering to any punch thrwon at you at all?.....Roy has always laid on the ropes. Look at how many times he does it vs Mike McCallum. and he's only 27yrs old there; still in his prime in that fight.
