    Ricky hatton's farewell plan

    RICKY HATTON'S FAREWELL PLAN
Two Brit blockbusters lined up - if Hitman beats Pacquiao

    DATES - Ricky Hatton
    By STEVE LILLIS, 21/03/2009

RICKY HATTON is plotting a £100million ring farewell with two blockbuster British battles.

The Mancunian risks his IBO and Ring Magazine light-welterweight titles when he faces the world’s top fighter Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas on May 2.

If Hatton, 30, defeats the Filipino he reckons that will set up bank-busting clashes against Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jnr — the only man to beat him.

A hometown fight against Marquez will generate £20m and a Wembley rematch against Mayweather would quadruple that.

Hatton said: “If I beat Pacquiao I’d like to fight Marquez. Then next summer I’d love an open-air fight at Wembley Stadium against Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

“I don’t want to be an old man in an armchair with my pipe and slippers still blaming the referee for what happened in the first fight.”

Very admirable that he wants to rematch Mayweather.

Theres a lot of haters of Hatton in here....I think he is a very determined fighter, and has a good chance to beat the pacman...I think he is not a sure lock in the hall of fame, so he needs some signature wins...the only one he does is against kosta tzyu...and this is coming from a big hatton fan...i think floyd is running from pacman....so floyd is secretly wanting a hatton victory over pac....floyd has always said he wanted to fight in england
