Everyone on here needs to stop trying to play Shane like some punk. Dude has fought everyone. He's older now and his legacy is pretty darn secure so now all he wants is big money fights. How can you blame him? People act like he hasnt put in work. He's been there and done that.
When Hatton beat Collazo and everyone ripped him for it, I said they were crazy because Collazo is 10x better then people are giving him credit for. Now Berto barley beats Berto and everyone is acting like Berto is average. People were crazy when Berto said that he wanted to fight Cotto but I think he wouldve gave Cotto hell. After the Berto-Collazo fight I said that I would love to see Berto fight Shane because I bet that he has an easier time with Shane then he would with Collazo because of the Southpaw factor. So many people blow off the Southpaw factor in boxing but its huge. Its a big time advantage to me in most cases.
Shane knows this. Everyone is either saying that he would kill Berto or that he should just fight him to unify or keep busy but Shane knows that Berto would be a crazy hard matchup that he could lose and why risk that at this stage of his career? You either fight Floyd, Cotto, Pac, JMM, or you dont fight anyone at all. If he does fight someone then pick a guy that you know you can beat. Berto isnt that. Im telling you that Berto would give Shane major trouble right now. Dont sleep on this kid like he will be a slow zombie like Margarito. Berto will land on Shane with some clean blistering shots. It would be a war and I wouldnt be shocked at all if Berto won.
