I think he is a good fighter, and I think teddy atlas was a tad harsh tonight. He was busting on the opponents Demetrius has fought yet its only Andrades fourth fight. No one that I know have has fought good or great fighters on their fourth pro fight. His work-rate seems high and he reminds me of Calzaghe in some ways for some reason, except he is taller like 6-1 and he fights at 154.
What do you think of demetrius andrade?

He looked real good, but I've seen a lot of guys look like that early on in their careers. Teddy makes a point about his competition, but at the same time he' s supposed to be fighting easy opponents at this stage.Comment

Teddy was very accurate on his opposition. Sorry I have to disagree with you all. He should be fighting guys that are a bit tougher. He had 250 amatuer fights, ffs he can handle himself. Gamboa's first four opponents had a combined record of 65-17. Andrade's opposition, 11-7 (if you count the last guy as 3-3 like Teddy said). The exact opposite of Andrade is Beibut Shumenov. Not quite as extensive a amatuer career as Andrade, but in his 4th pro fight he beat Donell Wigins, a guy who had beaten Danny Green, and in his 6th fight he shut out Montell Griffin. I know Griffin is old, but 6th pro fight. Im not saying that Andrade should be fighting guys who challenged for alphabet titles or who have 40 wins, but he needs a bit stiffer competition to challenge him some. Otherwise he'll lose focus if sparring is significantly more difficult than his actual fights. And losing focus in a career or in a smaller sense, a fight, it incredibly detrimental to progress or even greater, success.Comment
